Why everyone keeps asking us about Worthington schools

I hear it at every single showing. Every one.

“So… how are the schools?”

At this point I could give the answer in my sleep. But you know what? I get it. If I was moving my family somewhere new, I’d be asking the same thing.

The short answer

They’re good. Really good. That’s why you’re paying Worthington prices instead of living somewhere more affordable 20 minutes away.

The longer answer

I’m not going to pretend to be an education expert. But I live here. I grew up in these schools myself. And I can tell you the difference between Worthington schools and some of the surrounding districts is noticeable.

Thomas Worthington and Kilbourne both have strong academics. Good sports programs if your kids are into that. Solid arts programs. The elementary schools feed into them well.

Are they perfect? No school is. You’ll find parents who have concerns about this or that. But overall, the reputation is deserved.

What this means for rentals

Families will pay a premium to be here. I’ve seen people choose a smaller, older house in Worthington over a bigger, newer house in a district they’re less confident about. It happens regularly.

For property owners, this is good news. Your Worthington rental has built-in demand that properties in other areas don’t have.

One thing to note

Make sure you verify which school your rental feeds into. District lines can be unusual. We’ve had situations where a house has a Worthington address but a different school district. Always double-check.
